Be guided in a structured container

Each session is a carefully structured, progressive journey designed for mind, body, and heart integration, exploring movement as a language for communication such as leading following, and setting clear intentions. We move through grounding, partner work, reflection and sharing, and end with a group dance where we come together as individuals and as a collective whole, co-creating with our energy, intention and movement.

Move, Reflect and Transform

Contact Beyond Contact is a transformative healing and dance practice created by Vangelis Legakis and accredited under Unity Space. It is designed to help you deepen your connection with yourself and how you relate to others - it s a metaphor for how we show up in life. It combines dance techniques (contract improvisation, authentic movement, passing through) with healing modalities (somatics, qi gong, yoga etc) into a single movement practice.

FAQs

Why CBC especially for yogis?

Yoga translates to "union"-connection with the self. CBC expands on this by helping students practice that connection in relation to others. It bridges the gap between individual mat practice and collective community, teaching students how to listen to their bodies, set clear boundaries, and co-create energy in real-time. Each session provides a safe container to release stored tension, drop out of the mind, and explore the joy of human connection.

What happens in a CBC session?

Each CBC session is a carefully structured, progressive journey designed for mind, body, and heart integration, exploring movement as a language for communication such as leading following, and setting clear intentions. A facilitated session includes grounding, partner work, reflection and sharing, and ends with a group dance where we come together as individuals and as a collective whole, co-creating with our energy, intention and movement.

Do I need healing or dance experience?

This practice is not about performing' or having technical skills; it is about intentional movement and heart-led presence. Whether you are a seasoned or new mover, CBC is designed to meet you where you are. All you need is an open heart and mind.

What are the benefits of CBC?

CBC is a movement practice that aims to provide emotional healing and self-reflection in our relationships, with ourselves and with others. As we move our bodies from the heart and connect from the heart, we also ground our nervous system back into presence and calm.

Is there physical contact with others?

Yes, it is a natural part of this practice; however, it is primarily light and collaborative. We prioritize a safe environment where personal boundaries are explicitly respected, ensuring that any touch is consensual and comfortable for all participants.

Can I attend alone or do I need to bring a friend?

You can absolutely do both! Coming alone is a wonderful way to deeply drop into your own experience and meet new, like-minded people in a safely guided environment. It is also a great way to explore deeper on your relationship if you come with a friend.

"Contact Beyond Contact is a step into the unknown but it's a rewarding one. You'll practice how you can stay present and, importantly, show up for yourself and for your partner. It may feel strange and awkward at first, but once you get into it, it is very freeing and collaborative!"

"I'm a firm believer that Contact Beyond Contact provides a safe space to express through movement, and in doing so, better understand yourself and how you relate to others. It's helped me find more clarity in my relationships and beyond that, is just a really fun way to move and release tension! Thank you for facilitating a wonderful session!"

"The Contact Beyond Contact workshop is a healing, heart-opening practice that allowed me to practice self-exploration, vulnerability, moving with intention, and releasing unwanted stress and baggage. I think anyone who enjoys movement and self-healing practices would definitely resonate with the practice, and I look forward to practicing more."

"Wow, what an eye-opening workshop! Cathy was a great facilitator to guide us through the sometimes uncomfortable yet powerful experience. I recommend this for people who are looking for connection, insight about how they show up in relationships, and self-reflection. I think it was a great way to unplug, lose yourself in dance, and connect with others."
