About the practice
Contact Beyond Contact (CBC) is a healing and dance practice created by Vangelis Legakis and accredited under Unity Space. It weaves contact improvisation, authentic movement and passing through with somatics, qigong and yoga.
Moving somatically with other people shows you the patterns you usually can't see: where you hold back, where you push, where you brace. In a safe, guided space, you notice them in your body and practise responding in a new way.
I'm a Level 3 CBC facilitator, RYT-500 yoga teacher and sound practitioner. My aim is to hold a grounded, compassionate space where you can explore at your own pace.
“Contact Beyond Contact is a step into the unknown but it's a rewarding one.”
“It's helped me find more clarity in my relationships and beyond that, is just a really fun way to move and release tension!”
“The Contact Beyond Contact workshop is a healing, heart-opening practice.”
“Cathy was a great facilitator to guide us through the sometimes uncomfortable yet powerful experience.”
“There was no judgement, no pressure to move or be a certain way.”
“I got to take pause for myself, consider others and felt grounded as a whole.”
Questions

Wear loose, comfortable clothing, something you feel comfortable moving in. Bring water, a sweat towel (just in case!), and a journal and pen.
Yes. Plenty of people come alone, and you're also welcome to bring a friend.
People describe emotional release, clearer self-reflection in their relationships, and a calmer nervous system.
